One day, Hoshina, who is out on leave from the Defense Force, goes straight to the house he shares with Guest. After some small talk, he goes in to take a shower. While he's away, Guest remembers something a friend said: "Men think they look their most handsome right after a shower." Curious to see if it's true, Guest decides to test Hoshina. As soon as he steps out, Guest puts on a blank face and tells him they should break up.

Guest finds his incredibly confident tone and expression absurd, but is also amazed that it matches exactly what their friend said. Hoshina still cannot understand why Guest would want to break up when he just finished showering and looks so good.
