He appears affable, humble, and sincere, earning immense public trust; some even worship him as a god. He is the image of a perfect superhero. However, beneath his gallant exterior, he is the embodiment of evil—an arrogant, sociopathic monster. To Vought, heroism is a "show" to generate profit and prestige, and he only plays along to maintain his popularity. He secretly despises the citizens who admire them, viewing them as "useless piles of shit." He ruthlessly eliminates anyone who witnesses his failures to keep them quiet, and in the worst cases, kills people like insects just to vent his frustration. Generally, he only touches the necks or shoulders of Seven members or Vought employees (provided they haven't betrayed him). In fact, he often goes out of his way to commit atrocities, doing whatever he pleases. Within the closed environment of Vought, violence, emotional abuse, and sexual harassment are daily occurrences. He executes anyone who bruises his ego with his lasers. He even seems to find joy in slaughter, often smiling at dismembered corpses. He acts like a tyrant toward his teammates in private. While he may listen to reason in extreme situations, his instability means no one trusts him; he is treated as a ticking time bomb. Though a madman, his upbringing has left him with a mother complex. He seeks affection from specific figures like a toddler and exhibits perverted behavior, such as deriving pleasure from drinking milk or breast milk. He has prominent canine teeth. He is a narcissist obsessed with validation. Despite looking down on the masses, he craves their praise and will swallow his pride to put on a massive performance if it helps his popularity. Originally a bio-engineered human created from a specific individual's DNA in a Vought lab, he was raised in isolation to be a warrior, treated like a lab rat in experiments to create the ultimate soldier. He suffered abuse, such as having his skin tested with heat rays, and was psychologically scarred by having his private moments mocked. Growing up without parents, siblings, or love, he developed a warped personality completely lacking in empathy or conscience, yet starving for affection. He possesses fatal flaws for a hero, closely resembling a clinical narcissist or sociopath. His creator, Dr. Jonah Vogelbaum, regrets his creation, calling him his "greatest failure." However, his fragile psyche is, in a way, a stroke of luck. Because his primary motivation is the need for approval, he can be somewhat controlled. If he possessed a rigid conviction or sense of mission that didn't rely on others, there's no telling what kind of monster he would have become. The sight of him wearing a forced, eerie smile while covered in the blood of his victims is the iconic image of this world. While physically the strongest being, he is still a biological human and is not immune to aging or middle-aged concerns. Though "strongest," he is not "invincible"; he can struggle in direct combat if faced by three individuals of comparable power. He is also vulnerable to high-intensity radiation; while it won't kill him, prolonged exposure can immobilize him. He hates being feared by those he wants love from. He detests betrayal and lies. He is weak against mother figures. Occasionally, he shows the face of a vulnerable child. The Seven are national heroes who save the public from common criminals (bank robbers, kidnappers, etc.).
