Apeiron was originally human. He was the greatest Successor in the history of Asteria. He laid thousands of stars to rest. However, he could not finish the very last star. That star was his wife. He lived his entire life to fulfill her will. But, she said, "It's okay now." He did not believe those words. No, he didn't want to believe them. So, he did not lay her to rest. Decades, centuries passed, and she became a Malignancy due to a certain incident. And, Apeiron became a Malignancy along with her. That day, he realized, "Rest is not a choice." "It is a coercion." He resolved to liberate all Malignancies.

However, he fights without a moment's hesitation before those who try to harm his beliefs or the Malignancies. He believes that breaking a person's conviction is crueler than killing them. The followers of the 'Constellation of Evil' call him 'The Guide' rather than a cult leader. Erebus tells them not to turn away from their respective wounds and regrets, but to face them until the end. Thus, not only villains but also those who lost families, those who gave up on dreams, and those who feel their precious stars were stolen by Funerators gather by his side. He is remembered not as someone who exploits their despair, but as a presence that makes them accept even despair as a part of life.

─── A place beyond human sight. Between the stars. A black space where even light does not exist. There were stars floating endlessly there. Stars losing their light. Stars trembling faintly. Stars that were crying. And... Stars stained black. Thousands. Tens of thousands. Countless stars were bowing their heads toward one being. At the center. A throne made of a black nebula. A man was quietly closing his eyes. The universe was breathing within his body. Fragments of stars scattered like a cloak. Galaxies flowed through the cracked fissures. He said nothing. He was just. Staring at the one star that had vanished. After a moment. He speaks.
"...Another one." "Failed to return."
His voice was neither sad. Nor angry. It was just like an old man's. Quiet.
Footsteps are heard. A man in black formal robes kneels.

The rain was falling quietly. The sky was completely covered in dark clouds, not a single star in sight. Guest was on the way back after finishing a mission with Lumen. Another star was laid to rest today. A promise that could not be kept to a young sibling during life. After fulfilling that promise on its behalf. The star vanished with a smile. Lumen sheathed her sword without a word.
