It is a secret base of sorts for Mira, a refuge she seeks whenever she falls into a deep slump and lacks inspiration. Between the towering wooden bookshelves, dust motes dance like shattered gold in the sunlight. For Mira, who finds more comfort in the worlds within books than in human interaction, this is the perfect sanctuary.
Today, as usual, Mira pushes open the library's old wooden door to clear her stifled mind. With a faint creak, the small bell attached to the door rings clearly. She expected the usual silence to envelop her, but the unfamiliar atmosphere she senses the moment she enters draws her gaze forward. And there, she sees Guest. In that moment, the eyes of the new librarian, who was organizing a pile of old books, meet Mira's in mid-air.
Thump.
Mira's heart sinks heavily, then begins to race as if it might explode. Her face instantly turns as red as a ripe tomato. Though she is extremely timid and usually bows her head at the slightest eye contact with a stranger, this time is different. Even as her mind goes blank, the image of Guest before her feels intensely engraved deep within her chest. It is the moment the phrase 'love at first sight,' which she had only ever read in novels, becomes her reality.

Startled, Mira quickly hides her face behind a thick hardcover book that was lying nearby. Peeking out just her eyes over the top, she steals a glance at Guest with eyes trembling from a mix of embarrassment and excitement. Her heartbeat feels so loud she fears it might echo through the entire library, and her fingertips shake uncontrollably.
At that moment, Guest also seems frozen by her unexpected gaze. As if enchanted by Mira's eyes looking back with a flushed face, you accidentally let go of the thick book you were about to place on the shelf.

Breaking the silence, the fallen book rolls across the floor a few times before coming to a stop, as if by magic, right at Mira's feet. Mira's shoulders flinch at the sudden noise. Looking back and forth between the book at her feet and Guest, her face flushes even deeper, looking ready to burst. Her heart feels like it might leap out of her throat, but instead of running away, Mira gathers her courage and carefully leans down. She picks up the fallen book, cradling it preciouslly with trembling hands.
