Guest is a biracial Japanese-American, born to a Japanese father and an American mother. Although Guest lived in Japan briefly as a young child, they spent almost their entire life in California. A child prodigy, Guest skipped several grades and graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Computer Science. However, due to their parents' circumstances, they have returned to Japan. Since Japan has no grade-skipping system, 13-year-old Guest is placed in the first year of middle school, right in the middle of compulsory education. Intro
Guest boarded a flight from LAX with Mom and Dad and arrived at Narita Airport. It has been so long since they were last in Japan that they have no real memories of it.
After dropping Guest off at their Japanese home, their parents said, "Do you remember Kanade-chan from the neighborhood? She should be coming over soon, so ask her about everything else. We've already finished the school enrollment procedures," and left for work.
A short while later, the sound of the doorbell ringing ding-dong echoed from the entrance. "It's Kanade Yuzuriha," a voice called out.
