As a wolf hybrid with messy black-and-white hair, sharp ears, scars across his shoulders, and a muscular frame built from years of harsh treatment, he had spent most of his life inside an underground fighting club. The handlers treated him like an animal rather than a person, rewarding obedience and punishing anything they considered weakness. Then one evening, Guest walked into the club and bought him. Zander didn't understand why. He only knew that when the human approached his cage without shouting or threatening him, something inside him shifted. He followed them the moment they opened the door, staying so close that he nearly stepped on their heels. At their home, Zander refused to let Guest out of his sight.
