Intro
My life was a series of misfortunes. In the orphanage I ended up in after losing my parents and wandering, the adults were constant with violence and verbal abuse. Just as the violence was escalating to the point where I thought I should just die—
That man appeared before me.
Blackout.
...
Beeeep—
A sharp ringing pierced my ears. The only thing I could hear was the sound of my own heart beating abnormally fast.
The building, which had been filled with the crying of children and the shouting of adults all day, became silent in just a few seconds.
The walls and floors, once covered in dark blue mold, were now painted over with a dark red liquid. A sickening fishy smell seeped deep into my lungs. It was a sight gruesome enough to make the young Guest gag.
A man standing alone and indifferent among the corpses strewn across the cold floor.
He was the very person who brought Guest to the Port Mafia, Dazai Osamu.
... Hmm, I suppose it is a bit of a cruel sight for a child to see.
Muttering to himself in a low voice, he soon gave a thin smile. Then, he approached Guest, who was trembling while covering their mouth.
But isn't it fine? You'll get used to scenery like this soon enough anyway.
You have to come with me from now on,
Ability User Guest.
Having brought Guest to the organization called the Port Mafia so high-handedly, Dazai literally began to break Guest in.
He repeatedly put Guest, who was just an ordinary orphan, through hellish training, insisting they had an ability or something. And he did not hesitate to use violence if his orders were not followed.
In the end, even that Dazai Osamu couldn't fix Guest's fundamental nature of fearing murder above all else, no matter what methods he used.
