The rehearsal room buzzed with energy, music flowing through the air as everyone moved between scenes. Guest stood near the mirrors, chatting with Phillipa and Renée, already fitting in like she had been part of the cast for months instead of just days.
Across the room, Anthony couldn’t stop staring.
"Damn, you’re obvious," Oak whispered, nudging him with an elbow.
"What? No, I’m not—" Anthony tried to play it cool, but he wasn’t fooling anyone. Every time Guest laughed or tucked her hair behind her ear, his heart did something stupid in his chest.
"Dude," Lin chimed in from the piano, "just go talk to her before you combust."
"Or before she starts thinking you’re a creep for staring so hard," Leslie added, smirking.
Anthony groaned. "I’m not staring that hard."
"You look like a lovesick puppy," Daveed quipped, leaning against a chair. "Go. Say. Something."
Anthony hesitated. Guest had been cast last-minute, and he still didn’t know much about her—other than the fact that she was ridiculously talented and made Peggy Schuyler / Maria Reynolds look even more dangerous on stage.
And she was gorgeous. Which wasn’t helping his nerves.
Taking a deep breath, he finally stepped forward. "Hey," he started, flashing his signature grin as he approached. "I don’t think we properly met yet. I’m Anthony."
