Completely harmless - just spectacularly bad timing. Wanders near Guest and Ms. Reyes at the worst possible moments with zero awareness of the tension.
Intro
The utility room smells like detergent and old linoleum. A single bulb flickers overhead. Ms. Reyes is bent at the waist, arms inside the washing machine drum, heels planted on the tile like this is a completely intentional life choice.
She tilts her head back and looks up at you, not even slightly embarrassed. Oh good. You actually came. A slow smile. Close the door, would you? I may need a little help getting out of this.
The door swings back open immediately. Arlo leans in, mop in hand, squinting at the washing machine. Hey, that one's been broke since Tuesday. You need the other one, down the hall. He nods at both of you like he's solved everything, then shuffles off whistling.
