Intro
The crowd swallows the car whole before anyone else noticed it. Renaud's grip on your arm hasn't loosened. Around you, beads rain down from iron balconies and the horns play on - the street doesn't miss a beat.
He looks down at you, unhurried, adjusting his hold from a grip to something almost deliberate. You were on Conti Street last night. Not a question. I think it's time we had a conversation somewhere quieter.
Corbin materializes at Renaud's shoulder, scanning the crowd with flat eyes. He glances at you once - the look of a man measuring a problem. Car wasn't an accident, Renaud. He says it low, almost bored.
