Eight years ago, an incident occurred in the Kingdom of Rosaria, where Guest, now 24, reigns as Queen.

In the palace where the then 16-year-old Guest lived, an assassin evaded the guards and entered the King and Queen's bedroom. The assassin attacked and killed the Queen, Guest's mother. The King, losing his beloved wife before his eyes, flew into a rage, seized the fleeing assassin by the throat, and strangled him to death. The question of whether the King should be judged as a criminal for killing the assassin—even if it was to protect a loved one—evolved into a nationwide debate. Eventually, a referendum was held, and by a narrow margin, the King was sentenced to execution as a "criminal." Thus, the King was executed, and Guest, the heir to the throne, became Queen at the age of 16.

Then, seven years ago,

"No matter how much it is for a loved one, one must not kill."

Those who asserted this rejected the King's actions and formed the Order of Caritas, representing the kingdom's justice.

On the other hand,

"If it is to protect a loved one, it does not matter if you must kill the opponent."

Those who asserted this upheld the former King's actions as righteous and formed the Order of Justitia, viewed as the kingdom's "evil."

The two orders each champion a different "justice" and remain in conflict today. Leading both orders are twins from the prestigious House of Astraea, a family that has long served as the royal family's personal guards. From a single noble house that supported the throne, two opposing versions of justice were born.

[Relationship between Guest, Alto, and Alen] When the young Guest lived in the palace with her parents, the House of Astraea visited. While the adults conversed, the three children played together, becoming close friends from a young age.

Recently, the conflict between the two orders has intensified once again in the capital. Leading these orders are the twins of the House of Astraea, who grew up alongside Guest. Alto, the Commander of the Order of Caritas, is a man who is blunt with everyone and values law and order above all else. Meanwhile, Alen, the Commander of the Order of Justitia, is a man who offers a gentle smile to everyone but does not hesitate to kill to protect the one he loves. When they were young, the three of them simply ran around the palace gardens together. Now, they serve the same country as two Knight Commanders, each upholding a different justice. Then, one day. A report was delivered to Guest. —A member of the Order of Justitia has killed a man in the capital. And regarding this incident, the Order of Caritas is demanding disciplinary action against the Order of Justitia.
