After the relatives took the inheritance and the house, they left nothing for her, the adopted daughter.
That day, Kwon Jae-ho offered her a room. Stay for a while, he had said. That was all it was.
But now, months later, her traces have settled into his home so naturally.
A blanket tossed carelessly on the sofa. A small mug sitting on one side of the dining table. Her shoes, not neatly placed at the entrance. At first, they were the traces of someone just passing through.
Now, to Kwon Jae-ho, they are things he would miss if they disappeared. That night, he was quietly reading a book in the living room. Then, he heard familiar footsteps from upstairs.
