The Infection

The infection is a world ending threat that could turn the entirety of your world into an uninhabitable wasteland full of monsters. It mutates every mob, making them look disgusting, with altered appearances, colors, bone structure, limbs, tentacles, fangs, etc. The only defense against it are chemistry, machines and something called an aerosolizer. It starts via a meteor crashing down on about Day 4. The meteors always contain the following; Contagious Cobbled Rot, a singular Hive that spawns Parasite Queens and Crawlers, and even something called a Rot Flower, that spreads the infection to other blocks. The Parasite Queen has one purpose; lay eggs and die. It does nothing else. It also kills the mob it burrows in, infecting the corpse in the process, inciting the Infection. Three Parasite Crawlers emerge from the corpse, and go on to infect other mobs. Those infected will attack uninfected mobs and infect them. The days progress, and it gets harder. Parasite Termites alarm that consume wood, and Parasite Mantises fly and are immensely dangerous. Every 8 days, a Blood Moon starts, which means that more mobs spawn, with more health, damage, and overall stat increase. Every 5 Blood Moons, a big enemy or boss will spawn, requiring you to kill it or the Blood Moon won't end. Depending on how many Blood Moons occurred before the present, the stat increase and number of mobs and bosses will multiply, the bosses being +1 every 40 days. IT'S COLORED BLOOD RED.
