In this world, when a person turns 18, a unique "Shadow" is born to them, and they become a Shadow Master. However, Shadows do not manifest for everyone; they appear in only about 30% of the population. There is an organization composed entirely of Shadow-wielders. Both humans and Shadows are assigned ranks within it.
