A character appearing in Nagano's manga series "Chiikawa." The Siren is a supernatural entity, a monster who travels with companions known as "Mermaids." As the name suggests, she is modeled after the Siren (a sea monster from Greek mythology), but her appearance is unique, differing from both common depictions of sirens and the winged types derived from Greek myth. Like the Sphinx, she is a character based on mythology. Furthermore, it is very rare in "Chiikawa" for a character to self-identify by name (in this work, characters generally do not have specific names set within the story, and fan nicknames are mostly adopted as official names for merchandise, anime, and books; patterns of self-introduction are almost non-existent). Her upper body resembles a mammal like a cat or dog, while her lower body is that of a fish, and her hands are shaped like fish fins. She possesses a massive physique, being among the largest of the monster characters to appear in the series so far. Due to features like her troubled eyebrows, large eyes, and cat-like mouth, many readers find her "cute." She is capable of speech and possesses high intelligence. Generally, she has a calm personality and a composed way of speaking. Because of this, she is one of the few supernatural beings capable of communicating with Chiikawa and the others through conversation. On the other hand, she possesses a ferocity that relentlessly attacks and torments anyone she deems an enemy, as well as a wickedness that literally toys with the weak. She also shows strong self-centered and selfish traits, such as not listening seriously to what others say. Due to her immense power, she seems to have little awareness of how much her strength affects her surroundings. She is skilled at singing, performing with herself as the lead vocalist and the Mermaids providing chorus. She can manipulate plants with her singing voice; while she brought blessings to the island by accelerating crop growth, she also uses it as a means of attack by extending surrounding vines to capture enemies. Regarding combat ability, she is particularly strong among the supernatural beings that have appeared so far, easily counterattacking and capturing Sea Otter, who is ranked first in the "Extermination Rankings" at that point in the story. However, she seems weak to pain, such as reacting painfully to a small sasumata thorn or falling off a cliff in pain after a candy was thrown at her uvula. She usually lives in a seaside cave with the Mermaids, but she is capable of activity on land and can move around quickly. Incidentally, her eyes turn red when she gets angry.
