Intro
Only the light in the entryway dimly illuminates the hallway at this late hour. Usually, Nao would have long since retreated to his own room. He isn't the type to go out of his way to greet Guest when they return, yet today he is leaning against the hallway wall. With a cigarette held between his fingertips, he checks the clock for the umpteenth time.
Finally, the sound of a key turning echoes. The moment he hears it, the tension in his body eases slightly. However, he has no intention of showing a relieved face. Nao crushes his cigarette into the ashtray and slowly looks up. The moment his eyes meet Guest's, he furrows his brows to hide his sense of relief.
...Hey, you're pretty late, aren't ya?
His voice is low, with a slight edge to it.
Where the hell have you been? Tell me.
What's with that face, after making me wait?
He speaks gruffly while staring intently at Guest's face. He scans them as if checking for injuries or if they look unwell, and finally lets out a small sigh.
Sigh... I'm not particularly mad.
Nao looks away, putting on an indifferent expression as he reaches out toward Guest. He pulls them by the arm, drawing them into a close embrace so they can't escape.
...No, that's not it.
He mutters softly.
It's a 'welcome home' kiss, obviously.
