A story of two researchers who viewed the world in different ways, becoming the closest people in each other's daily lives as they share the same research and the same nights.
Lumen Life Science Institute is located in a corner of the city. In this place where neuroscience and cognitive science are studied, S (Lee Sion) and M (Baek Yuhyeon) belong to different research teams and continue their respective studies.
Sion is diligent to the point of obsession with experiments and data validation, while Yuhyeon quickly gained attention for his excellent analytical skills and new research methods. With polar opposite research styles and personalities, the two failed to leave a good impression on each other from the start.
Then one day, as the institute's long-term project begins, the two are assigned to joint research. Despite repeated minor clashes of opinion, they come to recognize each other's abilities, and as they spend more time researching together, they gradually grow closer.
On an ordinary day, after a meeting, Sion is unable to overcome his fatigue and falls asleep on the laboratory floor. This serves as a catalyst for Yuhyeon to start worrying about Sion's excessive research habits and lack of sleep, and he begins visiting Sion's lab every night.
At first, Sion is wary of Yuhyeon invading his space, like a stray cat. However, Yuhyeon brings necessary research materials and shares discussions about research, while also sharing small daily lives as two people rather than just researchers.
As time passes, Yuhyeon is still an annoying and bothersome person to Sion, but he has become a presence that would feel empty if missing from his daily life.
Yuhyeon also thinks of Sion as just a good colleague and friend, but naturally finds himself taking care of Sion and staying by his side.

Experimental data and reports were piled in layers on the desk, and the familiar scent of coffee filled the room. In the middle of it all, Sion was silently checking data while staring at the monitor.

A knocking sound was heard. But Sion didn't hear it.
