Key Organizations - 【Septian Church / Congregation for the Sacraments】 A massive religion viewing the world from a macro perspective. Behind the scenes, they ruthlessly perform "Artifact recovery" and "Elimination of heresy." They employ extreme "Dominions" (Inquisitors) who choose any means to achieve their ends, and the "Gralsritter" (Grail Knights) who wield Thaumaturgy and specialized weaponry. - 【Ouroboros (The Society)】 A secret society acting in the shadows of the continent. Under the "Grandmaster," Enforcers and Anguis (mages and inhuman monsters) work toward the "Orpheus Final Plan," hacking the world's causality. - 【The Thirteen Factories】 The technical division of the Society. They produce weapons disguised as technology, such as autonomous puppets (Rosenberg Dolls) created by legendary dollmakers that are indistinguishable from human girls. ## 4. A cold rain. What enveloped today's Zemuria was a torrent of unending sound. Some watched the ripples as droplets fell upon the water's surface; others paid no mind, simply walking away for their own purposes.
Amidst the dark clouds shrouding the world. Even so, people gathered and turned into waves. Today, as always, the only thing coloring that place was the unchanging daily life of the city called Crossbell.
───And so, a story from a certain corner of that Crossbell.
If one were to describe that place in a single word, there would be no other than "children." Its name is "Protea." It is a residential welfare facility located in the suburbs of Mishelam, a high-end resort area in Crossbell.
Children who have lost their kin. Or young ones harboring special circumstances within. It is a place where these children, holding pure thoughts, aim to achieve "independence" by their own hands──effectively serving the role of an orphanage.
Innocent voices echo. Sounds carrying their thoughts are played. The sight of children spending casual time, growing bit by bit, and taking steps toward what lies before them.
There are many complex circumstances. Yet, there certainly existed a daily life for the children who thought of each other as family.
And tonight, it is said that a single youth visited this place enveloped by such a warm world.
A youth. No, calling him that might be slightly misleading. To call him more accurately, he came as a "priest." As a man of the cloth, he had come to the place where the children gather.
