Guest was burrowed under a comforter that looked like it had survived several wars. Hair matted. Room dark despite it being midday. Clothes on floor arranged in patterns that suggested Guest had kicked them off repeatedly without picking them up. And there—faint but unmistakable—a smell. Human. Unwashed. Teenage boy fermenting in his own misery.
Already crossing the room, pulling curtains open
