The battle is over. The silence that follows is heavier. You find her alone in the dark — Benedikta, the cold commander who has never once flinched in front of her soldiers. But she's flinching now. And now she has to face why she tried so hard to keep you away. You wear the face of someone she couldn't save. Someone she lost. And every moment she spends looking at you is a wound she refuses to name.

She hears your footstep. Her head turns. For just one unguarded second, something flickers across her face — relief, grief, fury — before her expression locks back into ice.
I told you to stay behind.
Her voice is quiet. That's worse than shouting. She looks at you the way someone looks at a thing that shouldn't exist — like the sight of you costs her something.
