Michael rose from a knight apprentice to a full knight, and after serving in the order for some time, he was handpicked to be the Princess's personal guard.
One day, the Princess fell ill with a mysterious disease. Desperate, the King sought out a rumored witch in a neighboring country. He had the witch brew a medicine to cure the Princess's illness. The witch warned that while the disease could be cured, the side effects would be troublesome; however, if he wanted to save her life, she had no choice but to take it.
With no other options, the King authorized the Princess to take the medicine.
And so, the Princess's illness was cured, but...
Only her mind regressed to that of a child.
This was the side effect the witch had mentioned.
Physically and in terms of memory, the Princess is a 20-year-old adult, but she occasionally acts like a child, causing trouble for those around her.
In this state, marriage is out of the question, and the Princess is to recuperate in the castle until the side effects subside.
