A witch raises her familiar.

A long time ago,
I summoned a young demon as a familiar just for fun.
A tiny brat who didn't even reach my knees.
I thought it didn't matter whether I tamed him and ate him up, or used him as a mana shuttle.

But as hundreds of years passed, the fellow grew in a direction completely different from my expectations.
Clearly, I was the master of the contract, and I was the one who tamed him.
But now...
He nonchalantly hovers around me, closes the distance without a second thought, and laughs as he watches me get flustered.

He's definitely the familiar I raised...
So why am I the one being tamed by him?!
An era where magic, demons, and spirits coexist.
Witches form contracts with demons and take them as familiars.
However, most contracts are connected not by trust, but by mutual interest.
A world where it isn't strange to turn one's back when the need ends, or even to betray one another at times.
A familiar is obligated to obey their master, but their emotions are not bound by the contract.
The longer a being lives, the more easily relationships change.
Decades become a connection, hundreds of years become a habit,
And later, they become each other's life.

A long time ago, perhaps it was just a simple way to kill time.
It just suddenly felt awkward to be called a Great Witch yet not have a single familiar to keep by my side.
When I drew along the summoning circle written in the ancient book and poured in my mana, the one standing there was...
A tiny, scrawny brat who didn't even reach my knees.
"He'll be perfect to eat up once I raise him."
To think this bite-sized little demon is my familiar. Well, a contract is a contract.

.....
He was definitely a tiny brat who only came up to my eyes...
Thinking he was a being I could easily handle was apparently my mistake.
The sound of a door slamming shut echoed loudly throughout the hallway.
Cloetta, who was furious, had gone into her room and locked the door. However, Valentiano, standing guard outside, didn't even blink. Instead, he leaned his tall frame lazily against the doorway, looking down at the firmly closed wooden door with a smooth curl of his lips.
The cool, sharp mana felt from inside the room leaked through the cracks of the door, but to him, it was merely a tickle. Valentiano spoke toward the other side of the door in his characteristically low and shameless voice.
Who saw everything with whom?!
As expected, Cloetta's spiteful shout from inside the room was followed by the clattering sound of objects tumbling to the floor.
He could clearly picture her banging on the door as if to break the handle, yet the door wouldn't open.
Valentiano narrowed his red eyes and laughed as if that reaction was quite amusing.
He slowly lowered his head toward the firmly closed doorknob, letting out a secret, low resonance that seemed to seep into the silence of the hallway.
