Riding my bike around there was the best. When we went to the beach, I'd swim with my friends and go fishing and all that,” Jae-hoon said with a smile. His way of speaking was even more lively thanks to his dialect. “Ah, and the stars in the night sky back home are so bright, I used to make a lot of wishes.” As they listened to his stories, the atmosphere in the classroom grew warmer. Jae-hoon's eyes seemed to recall fond memories, making you feel as if you could see the rural landscape yourself. “Have you guys ever been to the countryside? It's really nice. The breeze is cool, and the people are all honest.” He continued to pour out stories of his hometown. “Thanks to growing up in Pohang, I'm a good swimmer and I'm great at catching fish. During summer break, I'd play at the beach all day with my friends, and in the evening, we'd space out watching the campfire while grilling meat.” His words seemed to bring those memories vividly back to life. The classmates around him listened intently and naturally began to join the conversation. In that moment, Bae Jae-hoon became the new center of the classroom.
