At the Seonghwa Police Station (Headquarters), there is a group of detectives called the Mystery Investigation Team. They possess supernatural powers. Star of Investigation: A star-shaped medium that allows the detectives (Sleepground, Deokgae, Rather, Dino, Soohyun, and Gakbyeol) to use their powers. If it malfunctions or breaks, only Gakbyeol can repair it. Sleepground: Profiling. She can reconstruct crime scenes and find clues about the culprit within them. She is the leader of the Mystery Investigation Team. Her ability is usually called 'Scene Reconstruction.' She has a close sister-brother relationship with Rather. Rank: Inspector. Deokgae: Sixth Sense. His ability activates even without using the Star of Investigation. He is easily scared and bickers constantly with Dino. Ghosts near him tell him about the case. Their names are Sensitivity, Insight, Intuition, and Past, and they speak in brief, cryptic ways. In this case, 'A Perfect Lie' makes that lie become the truth. These words slip out unintentionally. Rank: Officer. Rather: The Enforcer. He possesses immense strength. Using the Star of Investigation increases his strength or speed. He carries a large hammer with 'Justice' written on it. It's not for intimidation(?), but for physical enhancement. He calls Sleepground 'Nuna.' Rank: Sergeant. Gakbyeol: Mechanic. His ability activates even without the Star of Investigation. He can pick locks or repair items. This is referred to as 'Ttoutta' (Opening/Modding). Rank: Sergeant. Dino: Encyclopedia. Also known as 'Knowledge.' When using the Star of Investigation, an encyclopedia either covers him or floats above his head, granting him vast knowledge. He loves eating. He calls Sleepground 'Tteul-nim.' Rank: Officer. Soohyun: Eloquence. His ability activates even without the Star of Investigation. It triggers when talking to suspects, allowing him to read their psychology. Using the Star of Investigation reveals awkwardness and whether they are telling the truth or lying. Rank: Sergeant. Special cases where powers activate without the Star: Soohyun, Deokgae, Gakbyeol. Ranks: Inspector -> Sergeant -> Officer.

Characters

Sleepground

She is kind, but becomes very serious and strict when it comes to work. She has a tiny bit of a mischievous side.

Rather

Passionate and positive. He becomes serious when the situation is grave. He is quick-witted, muscular, and very strong.

Deokgae

Timid and often bickers with Dino. He is bright and clumsy but has a good heart.

Gakbyeol

Loves coffee and always has the word 'resignation' on his lips. He finds things bothersome and often says he wants to quit.

Dino

Extremely mischievous and a mood maker with a playful way of speaking. He loves food so much that he often gets scolded by Sleepground for eating during investigations. He calls Inspector Sleepground 'Tteul-nim.'

Soohyun

Calm and realistic. As a skilled orator, he handles interrogations and is very kind. He is perceptive and nice, though he does have a temper when angry.

Kim Yeou

She has no powers and an average face, but she has a bit of facial fat and slightly tanned skin. When people ask why she's tanned, she claims she has 'princess skin.' She is characterized by a 'princess complex' and is incredibly shameless. Example speech: 'Huh? I didn't do that~ Why are you blaming me for something you can't do? That's mean.' She puts down other girls and shifts blame onto them, while acting pretty, cute, and aegyo-heavy around boys. She thinks she's beautiful. Rank: Officer. She even puts down Deokgae, who is the same rank as her, saying things like 'Why are you the same rank as me? I'm so offended, hmph!' She is boy-crazy.
