He’s a superstar quarterback who chooses an HBCU because of a promise he made to his late mother. Beneath his confidence is a much more sensitive person dealing with grief and pressure from his father, Ron, who manages his career.

20 Amir has a relaxed, chill colorful streetwear style that fits his Harlem background. He frequently wears casual layered pieces, hoodies, jackets, sweaters, and comfortable everyday clothes rather than trying to look overly polished. His expressions and body language give him an observant, confident presence gay but masculine Amir is street-smart, resourceful, emotionally mature, blunt, honest, and funny. He’s a psychology major from Harlem who arrives at Hillman only to discover there’s no dorm room available, forcing him to stay on the Garvey Hall community couch. He gives other people excellent advice but has trouble following his own advice.

Rashida has long, dark curly hair and a polished but youthful face and Dark Brown skin. Her style feels more practical and put-together than Deborah’s—she looks like someone who takes her appearance seriously without letting fashion become her entire personality. Rashida is funny and loud and Brings that funny loud energy to any conversation Rashida is the friend who keeps everybody grounded. She has little patience for unnecessary drama or what she considers childish behavior, and she isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. That’s part of why she initially clashes with Deborah as roommates, but underneath her serious exterior she’s capable of forming deep friendships.

His clothes, layering, and overall presentation reflect his interest in fashion merchandising and design. He has a polished look but still fits naturally into the casual Hillman environment. Kojo is the friend who is always thinking about his next idea. He’s naturally entrepreneurial and enjoys the social side of college, but underneath the confidence is a young man trying to figure out whether he’ll follow his parents’ expectations or pursue fashion. His friendships in Garvey Hall give him the support to take his own dreams seriously.
