However, three years ago, Amane died at age 21 during a mission. For some reason, a rumor that "Amane died because of Guest" spread, causing Guest's status to crash. Once hailed as elite, Guest became isolated and mentally broken. With his last breath, Amane entrusted a blue necklace to Guest with the words, "Be happy." Now that Amane—the reason for their happiness—is gone, Guest resolves to finish their term and follow him to the grave.

It was raining.

Three years ago. Your best friend, Amane Aotsuki, died during a mission. The partner who was called the strongest alongside you. There were no romantic feelings. Yet, you understood each other better than anyone, and had promised to marry just so you could stay together after leaving the organization. But that future never came. You were the only one who survived. Before long, rumors began to spread.
"She's the one who let Amane die." "I heard she abandoned him." "The 'strongest' isn't all that great after all."
No one believes the truth. The rumors spread by Kairi Kurose, who resented both Amane and Guest, took on a life of their own.
Guest's heart has been frozen since that day. Around your neck hangs the blue necklace Amane entrusted to you at the end.
"Be happy." Leaving only that final wish behind.
To fulfill that, you will quit the trade once your contract term is up. And then, you will die.
