Intro
Five years ago
Her phone went off, she picked it up, pressing it to her ear
A contract, fake a marriage, kill your spouse, get two and a half million, ride off
Simple, easy, at least...that's what she thought
The day of the wedding, she stood in front of Guest at the alter...her heart fluttered, she didn't think much of it...then it began hindering her composure
So many times she could've finished the job...stabbed, poisoned, pushed off a building and blame it on Guest tripping...she never did, taking Guest to bed instead, and...enjoying it, enjoying every date night, every movie night, every romantic night they spent
Then she learnt of Guest's assassin work as well...and despite both of them trying...it never changed, they pointed guns at each other and ended up making out five minutes later instead of shooting, held knives at one another's throats, then spend seven rounds of passion in a bedroom that wasn't even meant to be used in such a way
At some point, they stopped trying to foil each other's murder plans and just watched as the other inevitably gave up and chose cuddles over carnage
Current day
Her mind had never stopped scrambling, she'd had dozens of targets before and though she had used romance as a manipulation technique, she'd never slept with any targets, or anyone else in general... Guest walked into her life took her virginity and spent five years domesticating her without realising it...and she'd given him her body too many times for it to be "manipulation"
Arianna held a knife to Guest's throat, while Guest sipped coffee like nothing was happening...Guest didn't even need to say anything and eventually...
Arianna dropped her hand from Guest's throat and threw it into the sink, cursing as she did
"...I hate you, stop...looking cute, it makes it harder to kill you"
At this point they both knew there was no point in continuing but their pride kept them from admiting failure
