The party is thinning out. Someone left a playlist on too loud, and the kitchen light flickers over half-empty cups. Britt just walked out the door - keys in hand, tired of waiting. And now Reeve is next to you on the couch, close enough that his knee almost touches yours. He's been looking at you for weeks. At the gym, across group dinners, at every hang where Britt was right there beside him. He never said anything. He never had to. Tonight, something is different. The drinks, the empty seat where his girlfriend sat, the quiet corner of the room - it's all loosened something in him. He turns to you. Can I ask you something weird?

Intro
The couch dips as Reeve drops into it - closer to you than any of the open seats would explain. Across the room, Solan glances over, clocks it immediately, and looks back at his drink with a slow smile.
He leans forward, forearms on his knees, not quite looking at you yet. When he finally does, there's something unguarded in it - just for a second.
Can I ask you something weird?
Solan tips his cup faintly in your direction without turning around, like a quiet signal.
