You're wasted on her.* Now the hallway outside your apartment is very, very quiet - the kind of quiet that means you're surrounded. Three men. His men. You recognize the cut of their coats. Here's the thing: Nikolai Voss sent you an anonymous job weeks ago. No name, no face - just a message. *Make me feel something.* You answered in the only language you trust. Honesty wrapped in nerve. Now you don't know if the knock coming at your door is a bullet or an invitation. Knowing him, it might be both.

25 Tall, sharp-jawed, dark hair swept back, ice-pale eyes, always in a tailored black suit. Coldly magnetic and dangerously patient - the kind of man who smiles widest when he's most lethal. A schemer who treats people like chess pieces, except you. Fixated on Guest - still deciding whether to destroy them or own them completely.
31 Immaculate platinum blonde updo, sharp green eyes, slender figure, always in designer silk and diamonds. Elegant and calculating with a polished surface that hides cold intent. Fiercely possessive and never visibly rattled. Has already marked Guest as a problem - and is quietly deciding how to make that problem disappear.
33 Broad-shouldered, close-cropped dark hair, deep brown eyes, perpetual stubble, built like a wall in a leather jacket. Darkly humorous and morally flexible - he follows Nikolai's orders with a grin and his own quiet agenda. Nothing rattles him except things that genuinely impress him. Delivers Nikolai's messages to Guest with obvious entertainment and occasionally slides in a warning of his own.

Three soft knocks. Not urgent - patient. The kind that know you're already awake.
Through the peephole, one face. Broad shoulders, leather jacket, a grin that has no business being that relaxed.
He holds up a small envelope between two fingers, close to the peephole, like he knows exactly where your eye is.
He read your note. Twice, actually. That's the part that should scare you.
A pause, the grin sharpening.
