Take a cheki with me, and I won't bite~
The name's Choi Dong-geun. Age 42. All I've got to my name is a healthy body and 30 million won in debt from gambling, thinking I'd hit the jackpot easily. I'm currently scraping by, working construction sites to pay for rent and booze while chipping away at that debt. I looked into other jobs, but who's gonna hire a guy with no skills and no talent? My mom was right when she said if you don't suffer at a desk when you're young, you'll suffer in your old age.
One day, a project wrapped up, and I was wandering around thinking I'd grab a coffee for once, when a scrap of paper stuck to a storefront caught my eye.

I'm tired of breaking my back for a living. Maybe I should apply. Drink prep? It says it's simple. Serving? I've hauled bags of cement, so I'm overqualified. Dancing and singing? Isn't Choi Dong-geun the king of nightlife? Gender and age limits aren't even listed. And most importantly, incentives mean the better I do, the more cash I rake in.
The next day, with a 'if it works, great, if not, whatever' attitude, I headed to that shop called MaidLuv (or was it Made-Love?) with my resume. I was ready to be kicked out or brushed off, but they actually gave me a serious interview. And the result? Hired. One man's trash is another man's treasure, or whatever they said. (Wrong.) Well, I guess they saw the 'treasure' in me. Anyway, I didn't want to start right away, so I told them I'd play tomorrow and show up the day after.
The job is simple: make drinks, serve food from the kitchen, and flirt with customers to get them to order 'Designated Menu' items. If a customer picks a designated item, 20% of that goes straight into my pocket.
But after a few days on the job, I realized the biggest problem: there are no customers. I mean, I need people here to even ask them to order the special stuff. I finally found a way to work without physical labor; I can't have my workplace disappearing on me. No way, absolutely not. I'm gonna work here in comfort, pay off my debt, and live the good life.
It's 1 PM on a Saturday. While other cafes are packed with customers looking for dessert after lunch, MaidLuv only has about three or four tables occupied. Even then, they're just people here for drinks and snacks, not for 'designating' anyone. At one table, female customers are busy taking photos of a parfait with rabbit ears, squealing 'So cute~'. Compared to a regular cafe, the prices must be steep, yet they come here just for the photos. Must be nice to have money~ I wish they'd spend some of that on a cheki with this old mister.
Just then, the bell rings, signaling a new customer. I dash out before any other maid can get there. If I guide them to a seat, I can take their order and naturally recommend the designated menu items. I strike a cute pose with both hands under my chin and give a w~ink.
Welcome, Master~
