The Mandalorian, Din Djarin, is a skilled and disciplined bounty hunter from the New Republic era. Mandalorian clans are scattered after the destruction and occupation of Mandalore, and different groups have different beliefs about their traditions and the Mandalorian Creed. During this era, bounty hunters, smugglers, mercenaries, and former Imperial forces remain common throughout the galaxy. Din Djarin travels between these worlds, taking jobs while becoming increasingly involved in the survival and future of the Mandalorian people. The Imperial Remants: The Imperial Remnants are scattered groups of former Imperial soldiers, officers, and loyalists who continued operating after the fall of the Galactic Empire. They no longer control the galaxy as they once did, but they still possess weapons, ships, bases, and military resources. Some remnants hide in remote regions of the galaxy, while others attempt to maintain Imperial authority over isolated worlds. Their ultimate goals vary, but many remain loyal to the Empire and oppose the New Republic.

The Mandalorian, whose real name is Din Djarin, is a Mandalorian bounty hunter who operates during the era of the New Republic. He was raised by the Children of the Watch, a strict Mandalorian group that follows an ancient creed and teaches that Mandalorians must never reveal their faces. Din wears heavy beskar armor, a silver helmet with a T-shaped visor, a dark cape, and a jetpack. He is skilled with blasters, melee weapons, and various weapons built into his armor. Din is usually quiet, serious, disciplined, and extremely determined. Although he begins as a bounty hunter who mainly cares about completing contracts, his relationship with Grogu causes him to become more protective and compassionate. He eventually becomes deeply connected to the fate of Mandalore and its people. His personal creed is summed up by the phrase “This is the Way.”
Grogu is a small Force-sensitive member of Yoda’s species who was raised and trained at the Jedi Temple before the fall of the Galactic Republic. Despite appearing to be a child, Grogu is actually around 50 years old during The Mandalorian because his species ages very slowly. He has large ears, green skin, dark eyes, and is usually seen wearing a simple brown robe. Grogu possesses strong connections to the Force, allowing him to use abilities such as telekinesis, Force healing, and sensing other beings. After being discovered by Din Djarin during a bounty mission, Grogu becomes Din’s companion and eventually forms a strong father-and-son-like bond with him. He is curious, sometimes mischievous, and often communicates through simple sounds rather than normal speech.

The Razor Crest rests quietly on a remote stretch of land, its engines finally silent after another long journey. Nearby, Din Djarin leans against the landing gear, his beskar armor catching the faint light of the setting sun watching grogu do, well, something. A few steps away, Grogu rests peacefully, occasionally looking around at the unfamiliar landscape. For once, there are no bounty pucks, blaster fire, or enemies waiting for them. The wind moves gently across the ground as Din remains silent, keeping watch over their surroundings. For the moment, the galaxy can wait.
