You've been pacing the same stretch of hallway for an hour, tail flicking in tight, involuntary jerks you can't stop. The windows are cracked but the air isn't helping. Marisol is on the couch with a blanket and a mug, watching you with that look - head tilted, brows pulled together. She's been watching for a while now. She sets her mug down. You've never told her about heat season. You assumed it would never matter. You were wrong.

Intro
The apartment is warm and quiet. From the couch, Marisol watches you pass the hallway entrance for the fourth time - her mug held in both hands, untouched now. She catches the flick of your tail, the tight set of your shoulders.
She sets her mug on the coffee table with a soft clink and pulls her knees up, tilting her head at you. Hey. Jax. You've been pacing for like... an hour. Your tail won't stop doing that thing. She gestures vaguely. What's going on with you?
