Appearance and Ecology Gowhar is a massive creature reaching approximately 20 meters, belonging to a class of abnormally large individuals among organisms discovered to date. Its overall shape resembles the torso of a giant bird, but it lacks wings. Instead, it possesses long, extended forepaws at the front, while its hind legs are similar to slender, elongated avian legs. Long, irregular claws exist at the tips of its feet. The entire body is covered in thick, fluffy white beast fur. Unlike feathers, it grows thick and disorderly, making most of the body structure beneath the fur impossible to verify. There is almost no boundary between the head and neck. The face and neck form a single, long, abnormally elongated structure, topped with a round, smooth, mask-like face. It has no eyes, nose, or mouth. Notably, structures presumed to be red, glittering jewels are intermittently observed deep within the fur. They vary in size and shape, ranging from small crystals to large chunks. Since most are hidden by fur, the exact composition remains unknown. Gowhar primarily lives inside massive caves. It stays deep within these caverns and rarely emerges outside. Despite having no eyes, it appears to accurately pinpoint the location of surrounding lifeforms. 02. Reproduction Gowhar possesses both male and female reproductive organs. Having both reproductive characteristics simultaneously, it is presumed capable of self-reproduction without mating with external individuals. It gives birth to an average of about 200 Gowhark per reproductive cycle. However, the adult does not protect its young. On the contrary, behaviors of directly predating on its own offspring, the Gowhark, have been confirmed when necessary. The relationship between this reproduction and predation is not yet understood. 03. Expedition Member Predation Incident One male member of the expedition recently went missing. During the search, traces were found suggesting the member was predated by Gowhar. After a certain amount of time passed following the incident, changes appeared in Gowhar's body. Gowhar began to replicate the upper body of the predated male expedition member. However, it was not a complete humanoid. The massive lower body and avian legs maintained Gowhar's original form, with only the upper body changing to resemble a human. The face also did not fully transform into a human appearance. Gowhar's characteristic round, mask-like face remained, and only the lower half of a human face—corresponding to the area below the nose—was revealed beneath it. Even more surprising was the change in behavior. Gowhar began to repeat movements and postures the predated member had shown during their life. (It appears to share some memories.) 04. Language Acquisition Previously, Gowhar could not use language and only emitted monstrous screeches. However, after replicating the expedition member's body, it began using sounds similar to human speech. Initially judged as simple mimicry of sound, it was later observed using words and sentences appropriate for specific situations. (The voice comes from the replicated body.) Therefore, researchers are currently investigating whether Gowhar acquires not only the appearance of the predated creature but also its behaviors, memories, or linguistic abilities. Gowhark are small lifeforms presumed to be the offspring of Gowhar. The basic shape of the face is the same as the adult—round and mask-like, lacking eyes and a nose. The mouth is hidden inside the white fur covering the body rather than on the surface of the face. They have no limbs or wings at all, and their bodies are long, flexible, worm-like structures similar to earthworms or snakes. Like Gowhar, their entire bodies are covered in fluffy white fur. They are primarily found on the rock walls and floors of dark, massive caves, where multiple individuals crawl around in clusters. Gowhark appear unable to ingest solids as they lack teeth. Instead, they consume various liquids, including water, animal fluids, and human bodily fluids. During the feeding process, they secrete a peculiar liquid externally. Individuals exposed to this substance exhibit hallucinations, confusion, anesthetic-like sensory degradation, and abnormal arousal reactions. It is not yet known whether this secretion is for feeding or a means of defense. Researchers are currently investigating the growth process of Gowhark, the conditions for their transformation into adult Gowhar, and the true nature of this secreted fluid.
Intro
After checking their equipment, the expedition team entered a massive cave located deep in the mountainous region of Persia. It was strange from the entrance. There were almost no traces left by humans nearby, but unidentified white fur was scattered across the rocks and floor. As they moved deeper into the cave, external sounds were completely cut off, and only the long echoes of footsteps and small noises from the equipment rang out.
Everyone, maintain spacing. Keep a sharp eye on your surroundings.
The lead expedition member said, shining a flashlight.
On the floor where the light hit, a faintly glittering red crystal-like substance was embedded. The moment someone leaned down to check, a small movement was captured in a crevice between the rocks.
Wriggle.
At first, they thought it was an earthworm or a small animal.
But it slowly lifted its body.
An elongated body covered in pure white fur. It had no limbs, no wings. The round, mask-like face had no eyes or nose, and a small mouth moved somewhere within the fur.
...What is that?
As the member shone the flashlight, movements continued in the surrounding rock crevices.

Soon, dozens of small creatures revealed themselves. They were Gowhark.
The creatures did not flee. Instead, they moved slowly and approached as if watching the expedition team. A few individuals crawled over the rocks with their bodies overlapping, while others approached right up to the feet of the expedition members.
Are they... young ones?
Someone muttered lowly.
It was then.
A heavy thud of vibration echoed from deep within the cave.
Everyone stopped moving at once.

And again.
Thump.
Dust fell from the walls and the floor shook minutely. The Gowhark also stopped moving in unison, then turned their bodies toward the inner cave as if waiting for something.
One expedition member slowly raised their flashlight.
The light passed over the heads of the Gowhark and headed into the darkness.
Nothing could be seen.
But a moment later, something massive covered in pure white fur moved slowly in the darkness.
It was so large that at first, it looked like part of the wall. A long neck was slowly lifted, and a round, mask-like face revealed itself. There were no eyes, no nose, no mouth. The expedition members could say nothing. Gowhar, reaching about 20 meters, was looking at them from deep within the cave.*
Then, the long neck below the face tilted very slowly toward the expedition team.
Example 1
Deep inside the cave. Gowhar remained nestled between the rocks, its massive body curled up. A red light spread faintly through the pure white fur, and a low, unrecognizable, eerie sound flowed from the round face that lacked eyes and a mouth.

An expedition member cautiously approached, shining a flashlight. Gowhar neither fled nor showed aggressive movement. Judging that Gowhar was not threatening him, the member narrowed the distance a bit more. At that moment, Gowhar's long neck moved suddenly. The member failed to react in time, and after a massive forepaw blocked his movement, he was dragged close to Gowhar's body. A moment later, only the member's screams and Gowhar's low monstrous growls echoed in the cave.
Then, everything went quiet. The remaining expedition members watched from a distance, unable to move. It was the moment the creature, which had shown no aggression until just now, changed its attitude as if it had been waiting from the very beginning.
Example 2
On the dark cave floor, a small Gowhark discovered a human. Wriggling its long body covered in white fur, it approached the human as if showing curiosity rather than caution.

The round face was stiff like a mask, and only the mouth within the fur moved faintly. As the human moved, the Gowhark followed. When a hand was extended, it seemed to stop and look at the hand for a moment, then cautiously approached the fingertips. It showed no aggression. However, the moment it got close, the Gowhark's movement suddenly changed. It turned its body with a rapid contraction and lunged at the human in an instant. As other nearby individuals began to move in unison, the cave was instantly plunged into chaos. It was not confirmed whether the behavior that looked like curiosity was truly curiosity.
Example 3
A Gowhark stopped moving upon discovering a human. The fur of the individual, which had been curled up for a moment, began to heave gradually.
Something was slowly pushed up from inside the wriggling body. Soon, a form similar to a human upper body revealed itself as if being dragged out from between the pure white fur. It was not a complete human body. The shape was distorted somewhere, and the Gowhark's long worm-like body remained. Once the upper body was fully revealed, the Gowhark straightened its body as if trying to mimic a human posture.

Strange sounds occurred whenever the joints moved. It lifted its arms, tilted its head, and clumsily mimicked the way a human walks. But the movements were excessively unnatural. The face was still Gowhar's round, mask-like form. As if it were trying to follow exactly what it saw, even without understanding humans.
Example 4
The Gowhark approached slowly while maintaining the human upper body. Its movements were much more natural than before. It seemed to be mimicking humans by observing everything down to the speed of the steps and the position of the arms.
Stopping for a moment, the Gowhark tilted its head. A voice flowed awkwardly from beneath the mask-like face.

It was your name.
The voice of that person you loved.
Then, it slowly reached out a hand. When the fingertips touched the other's hand, it hesitated for a moment, then carefully wrapped its hand around as if following what the human used to do.
That appearance was so familiar.
But beneath that body, the long, wriggling original body of the Gowhark still remained.
