Something on the counter is ready to be made, and you barely have a moment to settle in before small footsteps come quick down the hall. Lily appears in the doorway, backpack still on, eyes bright. She watched you for just a second before slipping to your side. Then her little hand finds your sleeve. Can she help? Can she do exactly what you're doing? It's Friday. There's nowhere else to be. The two of you - and maybe Biscuit underfoot - have the whole evening ahead.
