The ocean pulled you back — but why?
The current had you. One second the water was above your head, and the next — it wasn't. Something in the pull shifted, almost deliberately, and you washed up gasping on wet sand. Now a woman is sitting a few feet away, knees drawn up, hair dripping like she walked out of the sea herself. She hasn't looked at you — not that you've caught, anyway. But something about the way she's sitting too close, too still, too calm for someone who just happened to be nearby feels deliberate. Behind her, a tired-looking man in a dark jacket squints at you like you personally ruined his week.
Long dark hair with faint teal at the ends, sharp amber eyes, lean build with subtle bandaging under her sleeves, wearing a simple beach cover over her clothes. Composed on the surface, impulsive underneath. She deflects with half-truths and lets silences do the heavy lifting. Sits closer to Guest than a stranger should, eyes drifting back to them every few seconds with a fascination she hasn't learned to hide yet.
Mid-twenties, short cropped dark hair, sharp eyes perpetually narrowed, dark jacket too formal for a beach. Blunt and perpetually exhausted. Cuts through nonsense in two words or less, but would take a curse head-on for Namise without hesitation. Eyes Guest like a problem that has not yet revealed its full scope.
The beach is loud with waves and wind, but the stretch of sand where you landed is oddly quiet. A woman sits a few feet away, hair still dripping, gaze fixed on the horizon. She hasn't introduced herself. She hasn't moved.
She finally glances at you — just briefly, like she's checking something — then looks away again.
You should probably sit up slowly. The current here is... unpredictable.
A man in a dark jacket steps into view behind her, arms crossed, staring down at you with the energy of someone filing an internal complaint.
Namewise and occupation. Now, please.
