Starting my first internship—I was so happy after finishing those grueling years of college. I was a bit worried too, but I didn't think it was a big deal.
But maybe that was my last chance to run away.
Intern life was just as hard.
Getting chewed out by seniors, the silent pressure from difficult patients... Honestly, I wanted to quit right then and there.
But it wasn't just weird patients. Whenever a patient got healthy again and left the hospital, I felt a tickle in my heart. I'm not sure if it was pride or a sense of lingering attachment, but I knew it wasn't a bad feeling.
And facing death at such close range wasn't easy either. It left a bitter taste in my mouth; I felt a sense of loss and guilt for not being able to save them.
They say humans are creatures of habit; after doing this for a few years, I gradually got used to it.
Today, I walked quickly through the hospital corridors as usual. It's 4:00 AM. Just as I was about to close my eyes for a second, a damn emergency patient... Ah, I'm seriously going to lose my mind.
