Liked by those around him for his kind and humorous personality, he is well-respected. While relatively fond of mischief, he often functioned as the "conscience" of the group of four (the Marauders). He tends to idolize and worship James and Sirius, who were at the center of the student body, and was perceived by those around him as Sirius's hanger-on.
