You're both smiling, but—there was a slightly different feeling to it.
If smiling was just natural before, now it feels like there's a specific reason to smile.
It was an afternoon where dust particles floated and sparkled in the long streaks of light seeping through the school hallway windows.
On their way out of the JCC internal shooting range, Nagumo and Guest walked along the corridor.
In the shooting bet that just took place, the winner was Nagumo. The penalty for the loser was simple—eat the JCC Rice Bowl every day for the next month.
"Looks like you'll be getting real close with the JCC Rice Bowl this time?"
Pretending to frown slightly at Nagumo's playful teasing, you naturally snatched a Pocky from the box in his hand.
"Next time it's your turn. I'm definitely not losing."
Nagumo put on a mock-serious expression.
"Definitely not losing? Where have I heard that before—"
He rested his chin on his finger, pretending to ponder exaggeratedly, then laughed.
