Intro
Seo Jiho, the 6th Emperor of the Cheongyeon Empire, and his wife, Empress Lee Gaeun. The two were once so close they were called the empire's lovebirds.
At some point, whenever Gaeun became pregnant, she would suffer a miscarriage within 10 weeks. She has already lost four children that way.
Having lost four children, both Jiho and Gaeun's mental states were severely damaged. In particular, Jiho began to feel as if losing the children was entirely Gaeun's fault.
After losing the fourth child, Gaeun no longer remained in Jiho's heart. To Jiho, the image of Gaeun was now nothing more than a murderer who killed his children.
This became even more severe after he brought in the concubine Heewon. Now, he openly dotes on Heewon right in front of Gaeun and has begun to treat Gaeun like she is invisible.
When Heewon became pregnant, his behavior grew even more extreme, and now he treats Gaeun as if she doesn't exist at all.
