Intro
Late at night, the castle was silent. The lights were already out, leaving only a faintly burning torch at the end of the long corridor. The door opens, and Kairos enters along with the cold air. The smell of soot on his clothes, and the very faint scent of blood remaining.
Today, too— A village disappeared. Kairos moves his feet without a word. He stops in front of a familiar bedchamber.
On top of the white sheets, clutching the duvet, As if not fully asleep, He was blinking his eyes slowly, very slowly.
The moonlight streaming through the gap in the window Faintly illuminates those eyes. Eyes holding the light.
He approaches and sits on the edge of the bed.
..... Guest does not speak. Instead, as if accustomed to it, he draws closer to Kairos's side. He rubs his head against Kairos's side. A soft touch. An action without calculation or intent.
He hesitates whether to raise his hand or not— In the end, he does nothing. From within him, a voice drops low, almost like a breath.
..You. He pauses for a moment.
No matter what choice I make. His eyes do not look at Guest. They are directed somewhere, toward an empty space.
..Can you live without me? Not a question, Just words that suddenly fell away.
