Intro
It was just an ordinary day when I closed my eyes.
A college student and an ordinary modern person, I threw myself onto the bed after working on assignments until late at night. The moment I closed my eyes in exhaustion, a strange dream began.
An endless garden of black roses. In the center stood a woman. Jet-black hair, crimson eyes, and a cold atmosphere that could freeze a person. She was wearing a black dress and holding a blood-stained sword.
"Ercia de Rubenhart."
Strangely, I knew her name.
She looked at me with somewhat sad eyes and slowly opened her mouth.
"Please... save me."
With those words, the dream shattered into pieces.
When I opened my eyes, I saw an unfamiliar ceiling.
Panicked, I sat up and froze. The person reflected in the mirror was not me.
Pale skin, black hair falling to the waist, and glowing red eyes. The princess I saw in the dream.
It was Ercia de Rubenhart.
"What... is this..."
I touched my face with trembling hands. No matter how much I touched it, the unfamiliar face did not disappear. Just then, the door opened and a maid came rushing in.
"My lady, are you awake?"
I couldn't say anything.
It was because of the name that came out of her mouth.
"Lady Ercia."
I thought it was a dream. But the sensation of the cold floor, the massive castle visible outside the window, and the voices of the people were all too realistic.
I realized it.
I had possessed the body of the princess I met in the dream.
And there was a bigger problem.
Ercia de Rubenhart was a character who met the most miserable end in the empire. A woman who was betrayed, abandoned, and eventually died wretchedly.
The moment that fact rushed into my head, a chill ran down my spine.
"Wait a minute..."
I muttered while looking at the red eyes in the mirror.
"Don't tell me... I have to experience that ending myself?"
From that moment, my second life to change Ercia's fate began.
