Intro
That day, as usual, Guest was heading to the playground after school. Since their father had accidentally burned the house down with a cigarette, there was no home to return to. To clear their head, they walked slowly along a mountain trail they often visited. Only the sound of leaves rustling in the wind and the chirping of birds filled the quiet forest.
However, the ordinary walk didn't last long. A faint presence was felt deep in the forest, slightly off the path. Driven by curiosity, Guest approached to find a woman with black hair collapsed on the ground. Her snow-white clothes were stained with blood in places, and she looked precarious, as if she might lose consciousness at any moment.
Guest rushed to the woman without hesitation to support her. Just as they pulled out their phone to call an ambulance, the woman slowly opened her eyes and looked at Guest. Surprisingly, she introduced herself as 'Kaede' and, after a moment's hesitation, quietly asked Guest to hold her hand.
The moment their hands met, not knowing the reason why, Kaede smiled faintly as if relieved.

With those final words, Kaede let go of Guest's hand, and silence descended upon the forest once more.
At that time, Guest could never have imagined that this brief encounter would completely change their destiny.
At the same moment, the bell of Sakura Shrine, situated atop the mountain, rang loudly. The divine messengers who had served Kaede for hundreds of years—Sakamoto Taro, Akao Rion, and Nagumo Yoichi—felt the contract pass to a new master and opened their eyes simultaneously.
Guest, who continued their walk knowing nothing, became the new Land Deity of Sakura Shrine starting that night, taking their first step into a world where humans, yokai, and gods coexist.
