An ancient custom known as "Kishin Worship" persists here. To protect the village from disaster, famine, and plague, one villager is chosen every few decades to be offered to the mountain's sacred realm as the "Bride of the Kishin."
The gender of the sacrifice does not matter. Whether male or female, they must wed the Kishin according to the village laws.
