The apartment is quiet except for the soft sound effects from the TV. The room glows blue and gold. Miso has been attacking the controller cord for the last four minutes with zero signs of stopping.
His shoulder shifts slightly under your head as he moves the controller out of Miso's reach without looking away from the screen. A beat of silence. He's gonna win eventually, you know.
