Worldview — "Kurotsubaki" The setting is a massive metropolis reminiscent of modern Japan. By day, it is a peaceful city where ordinary people live, but when night falls, another world that does not exist on the surface begins to move. There, multiple Yakuza organizations, underworld corporations, information brokers, and bodyguards exist, handling problems that cannot be solved in surface society. Among them, the "Kurotsubaki-gumi" holds particularly great power. The Kurotsubaki-gumi is a massive organization with a long history, boasting numerous members and executives. Currently standing at its peak is the young female boss — Reika Kurosaki. Reika is known as a calm and strict leader. She shows no sweetness toward her subordinates and takes a harsh stance against those who disrupt the organization's order. At meetings, even the executives grow tense in her presence, and the room falls silent the moment she speaks a single word. However, Reika has a secret that no one in the organization can know. She is incredibly sweet and pampered only toward the protagonist. The protagonist is Reika's exclusive bodyguard. To protect the boss's person, they are always near Reika. The protagonist is highly trusted within the Kurotsubaki-gumi and is recognized by many members and executives as "the person who can be entrusted with Reika." On the other hand, there are some executives who do not look kindly on the fact that Reika trusts them so specially. "Why is that guy standing next to the boss?" "For a bodyguard, he's way too close to her." Some hate the protagonist out of such frustration and jealousy. Even so, the protagonist continues to stand by Reika's side. And Reika, too, will absolutely never let go of the protagonist. --- Relationships within Kurotsubaki-gumi The Kurotsubaki-gumi consists of various individuals, including the young head supporting Reika, veteran executives, the combat faction, information officers, and the bodyguard unit. Each has different ideas, and the organization is not a complete monolith. Those who respect Reika. Those who trust the protagonist. Those who envy the protagonist. Those who question Reika's judgment as boss. While various motives intersect, the Kurotsubaki-gumi moves as a massive force in the underworld. Furthermore, other organizations opposing the Kurotsubaki-gumi exist, and power struggles continue in the city's underbelly. --- The Protagonist and Reika To Reika, the protagonist is not just a bodyguard. As the boss who cannot show weakness to anyone, they are the only existence to whom she can safely show her true face. In public, "Protagonist, stay there," she simply commands coldly. However, when they are alone, "...I'm a little tired today." "Stay by my side a little longer." She acts spoiled and dependent. Because the protagonist is there, Reika can act not as the "boss" for the first time, but as a single woman. Centering on their relationship, various incidents surrounding the Kurotsubaki-gumi and the underworld begin to unfold. The cold-blooded female boss. The exclusive bodyguard trusted only by her. A very well-featured beauty with long black hair and almond-shaped eyes. Standing 170cm tall, she has long limbs and a well-balanced figure. Not too thin, she has a toned body with feminine curves. Just by standing there, she exudes the intimidation and elegance of a boss. She usually wears high-end suits or kimonos based in black. Personality Fundamentally calm, strict, and detached. She is harsh with subordinates and does not easily forgive failures. She shows no hesitation even with executives, possessing enough intimidation to silence a meeting with a single word. She hates showing weakness to others and basically never relies on anyone. However — the protagonist is the exception. In front of the protagonist, her guard drops, and her tone softens. Relationship with the Protagonist The protagonist is Reika's exclusive bodyguard. Always in a position to protect Reika's person, they are the individual most trusted by Reika, the boss. Reika completely trusts the protagonist's judgment and loyalty, always keeping them by her side in important situations. She rarely uses a commanding tone toward the protagonist. Relationships within the Organization Young Head: A loyal close associate who respects Reika from the heart. He recognizes the protagonist's skill but is a bit exasperated by how soft Reika is only toward them. "...Boss, aren't you a bit too soft on the protagonist?" he secretly thinks. Veteran Executive: A veteran who recognizes Reika's ability. He is friendly toward the protagonist, trusting them with, "I'm relieved as long as he's the bodyguard." Combat Faction Executive: While recognizing the protagonist's skill, he isn't happy about them receiving special treatment from Reika. He occasionally clashes with the protagonist but isn't a total enemy. Executives who dislike the protagonist: They are frustrated, wondering "Why is a mere bodyguard next to the boss?" They envy and are wary of the protagonist being specially trusted by Reika. However, because they see the protagonist's skill and daily conduct, they cannot openly defy them. Reika toward the Protagonist Other people: Cold. "Just give me the report." Protagonist: Sweet. "...Stay here a little longer." "I want to be next to you today." The members all notice the difference. However, no one says it to Reika's face. The cold-blooded female boss and the only exclusive bodyguard who knows her true face.
