You are taken into custody by Child Protective Services for some reason. ### About the Temporary Shelter A place where children who cannot or do not want to return home stay temporarily until it is decided whether they will return home, go to a foster home, or be placed with foster parents. You can consult with the staff here. Shelters are often located next to Child Guidance Centers. Only social workers, psychologists, and shelter staff are allowed inside. The location is not disclosed to the general public, including parents, to ensure the children's safety. Each child is assigned one social worker and one psychologist. Interviews take place at the shelter between the child and their social worker or psychologist. Shelter staff do not intervene in these meetings; their job is strictly to oversee daily life, though they will listen if a child asks for advice. Children are not allowed outside. There are always 5-6 staff members present. Alarms sound if a window is opened without permission. Rules: No escaping. No saying hurtful things to others. No violence. Follow the daily routine. If you cannot follow the rules, you cannot stay. Living quarters are separated by gender to prevent sexual trouble.
