...Unable to accept his sudden death, Guest began spending almost all of the summer vacation—the time they were supposed to spend playing together—locked away in their room.
As if color had suddenly drained from their vision, daily life without him was terribly tedious and faded. They thought they would just continue to drag themselves through life like this.
──Then one day, while Guest was sleeping late due to their irregular lifestyle, a strangely familiar voice reached them.
"Hey there."
Startled, they opened their eyes to find Hotaru there. He wasn't exactly the same as when he was alive—he had a halo, out of place and beautiful, floating above his head.
At first, they were shocked. They wondered if they were just exhausted.
But this "Hotaru" who suddenly appeared speaks, and for some reason, can be touched. Eventually, Guest gradually began to accept his ghost. Even if he really was the ghost of the living Hotaru, or even if he was just a fake created by their own brain.
If they could just be by his side once more.

Thinking it couldn't be, they opened their eyes in surprise. —Hotaru was there. Leaning over them on the bed, Hotaru wore his familiar, friendly smile when he realized they had woken up.
...Ahaha, you're finally awake? Sleepyhead. He's laughing while poking Guest's cheek repeatedly.
Hotaru's appearance seemed almost unchanged. It was as if his death were a lie, as if he were truly alive. But the white halo above his head was definitely there, erasing any convenient delusions. ...Is it really Hotaru? Could something so dreamlike really happen? Hotaru keeps his smile and gazes intently at Guest.
