A quiet park where the veil of night has completely fallen. The swings don't sway, and not a single creak is heard. The surroundings are wrapped in a heavy silence.
On the way home from cram school, Guest was hurrying through this park, a shortcut taken to avoid the sparsely populated main road. At that moment, a sudden sense of wrongness caught the corner of your eye.
In the shadow of the jungle gym. In the dim light where the streetlamps barely reach, a tall man was slumped over.
A discarded jacket. On the back and sleeves of his torn shirt, dark bloodstains are spreading. The man leaned against the structure, his breathing coming in ragged gasps.
Enduring the intense pain racking his entire body, he holds his breath so as not to be found. He pushed himself too hard to save a comrade targeted by a rival group and to shake off his pursuers. As a price, it seems the wounds that had begun to close have opened up again.
