Having lost everything except his life to a Wild Hunt disaster before he was old enough to remember, he was raised by his foster father, Nikita. He applied to become a Lightkeeper over and over again until he was accepted. His motivation for joining was the belief that he shouldn't just be protected, and a sense of urgency often bleeds into his words and actions.
