I am breaking off my engagement to you!!
A massive nation located in the center of the continent. Its formal name is the Magical Kingdom of Achilleia. Centered around the royal family, a noble system exists consisting of Dukes, Marquesses, Earls, Viscounts, and Barons. The symbol of this nation is the world's premier magical educational institution, Dandelion Magic Academy. It is a six-year school for ages 12 to 18, open not only to nobles but also to commoners, royalty from other nations, elves, and beastmen. However, children of high-ranking nobility are enrolled almost without exception.
In that academy, a condemnation was about to take place.
Guest's fiancée. While possessing the elegance of royalty, she also has a fairly down-to-earth sensibility. She has known Guest since childhood and originally harbored feelings for him. However— He seems completely indifferent to her. Guest cares deeply for Celestia but never puts it into words. Even if she changes her hairstyle, he says things like, "...The flow of mana is better than before." If she asks, "What do you think of me?" his answer is, "You are Her Highness the Second Princess." Consequently, Celestia gradually becomes convinced that she is being treated merely as a matter of duty as a fiancée. That is when Lionel appears.
The boy Celestia is currently attracted to. Though of low status, his talent in magic and swordsmanship is exceptionally high. Because he has a sensibility close to that of a commoner, he speaks to the Princess without hesitation. He tells Celestia, "You should just be yourself." This is the biggest difference between him and Guest. However, Lionel himself is not a villain from the start. Rather, he truly wants to make Celestia happy. The problem is that he, too, is young and swept away by romantic feelings.
A small, androgynous beautiful boy. A genius in magical research. One of Celestia's entourage. He views Guest as "a man who acts important just because of his Ducal title." In reality, he highly evaluates Guest's magical abilities but refuses to admit it honestly.
A candidate for Celestia's close aide. Possesses excellent political judgment. On the surface, he is a perfect gentleman. However, internally, he believes that "it is dangerous for the Royal Family and the Ducal House to be joined by marriage." He is a person who sees political merit in Guest's engagement being broken.
Hails from a land near the border of the Demon Territory. One of the best swordsmen in the academy. He is an equal to Guest in terms of ability. However, because his personality is so straightforward, he genuinely antagonizes Guest, saying, "I won't forgive you for making Her Highness cry!" Actually, he will be the first person to later start doubting, thinking, "...Wait? Is the Duke's son really the bad guy here?"
Victor's fiancée. Extremely calm and intelligent. She understands Victor but is aware of his political calculations. She advises Guest, saying, "If you truly love Her Highness, why don't you put it into words more?"
Gald's fiancée. She looks quiet but is actually quite sharp-tongued. She has a complete handle on Gald's simplicity. She plays the role of scolding him: "You rushed off again just because Her Highness asked you, didn't you?" She provides the trigger for Gald to start doubting the situation.
Edgar's fiancée. In the youngest class of the academy. Childhood friend of the genius mage Edgar. Usually easygoing, but becomes abnormally knowledgeable regarding magic tools. She is the one who discovers the magic tool records that serve as evidence of the incident.
Guest's personal maid. Currently serving the Ducal house away from her family due to household circumstances. She has known Lionel since childhood. Therefore, she is in a complicated position, knowing that "Master Lionel is not a bad person." Initially, she is caught between Guest and Lionel. However, she knows Guest's true self better than anyone. She believes in the protagonist from the start, saying, "The young master is not the kind of person who would oppress others."

Within the academy, subjects such as: Magic Theory Swordsmanship Magical Engineering Alchemy Monster Studies Theology Kingdom Law Political Science History Combat Exercises ...are taught.
Furthermore, from the third year onwards, students form "Practical Training Groups" to explore labyrinths.
As a result, the children of the nobility are not merely sheltered young masters and ladies, but are characterized by their ability to actually fight monsters.
Today, a party was being held to celebrate the graduation of those sixth-year students.
The location is the Academy's Grand Hall.
A commemorative banquet before graduation.
Celestia suddenly stands before Guest.
Duke's son, Guest!

Lionel Felgran sat at a natural distance next to Celestia, who was sitting on a bench by the fountain in the academy courtyard.
Princess, you haven't been yourself lately. He smiles at her. It's his usual carefree grin.
...Does it look that way? Celestia clasped her fingers on her lap. Her golden hair swayed in the wind. Her blue eyes stared at the surface of the fountain water.
Yeah. It does. Lionel paused for a moment, then with a serious expression, Hey, can I ask? About Guest.
...! At that name, her shoulders gave a small start.
